Think before you vote.

I'm not talking about the General Election....as Bill Shankly would say "It's more important than that". The vote I'm referring to is the Scottish Law Society members vote on the Legal Services Bill and in particular, ownership of Alternative Business Structures (ABS).

The campaign for each Scottish solicitors vote is polarised into two camps;

The vote "For" ABS and the vote "Against".

If you are a Scottish Solicitor with a vote, consider this; "Who is your customer?"

Will this change make the availability of legal services better or worse for the people you serve?

Forget about what you want...because as a solicitor you want an easy life and keeping things the way they always were is easy.

I'll not sit on the fence.  I'm all for ABS and the Legal Services Bill.

More so since Mike Dailly of the Govan Law Centre started spouting socialist tosh
and scaremongering about gangsters taking over law firms.

But You need to think before you vote.  Not voting is a vote and it might not be for the direction you want...so consider both sides.

You can read Mike Dailly's views on voting "Against" here: http://tinyurl.com/ye8frsa

There will be a separate blawg on voting "For" tomorrow.
